Our first Canoe Paddle on Fairy Lake in Acton.

Look at the trees, look at the birds, look at the clouds, look at the stars... and if you have eyes you will be able to see that the whole existence is joyful. Everything is simply happy. Trees are happy for no reason; they are not going to become prime ministers or presidents and they are not going to become rich and they will never have any bank balance. Look at the flowers - for no reason. It is simply unbelievable how happy flowers are.

There is nothing in which the birds differ more from man than the way in which they can build and yet leave a landscape as it was before.

Somewhere over the rainbow, skies are blue, and the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true.

Mothers Day

When you are a mother, you are never really alone in your thoughts.  A mother always has to think twice, once for herself and once for her child.
 ~Sophia Loren

My Mothers Day Breakfast, prepared and cooked by my beloved boys :)

(Okay, I flipped the pancakes in the pan, but THAT'S IT, honest!)

Sleepy eyed, but raring to make Mom breakfast! Cole cut up the apple while Chad mixed the cinnamon spelt flour mixture before combining everything and topping the cakes off with bananas and drizzling with our local Maple Syrup. YUM- Meeeee!

Afterwards I was given a Kitchen-aid ice cream/frozen yogurt maker and a beautiful set of Italian made espresso glasses from my beautiful boys. ♥

Many, many hugs and kisses were given on this fabulous day. (Which was last week, but still, better late than never right?)

In Memory of our Beloved Colt.

Bowden, 2007-2009.

Somewhere in time's own space
There must be some sweet pastured place
Where creeks sing on and tall trees grow
Some paradise where horses go,
For by the love that guides my pen
I know great horses live again.
~Stanley Harrison

(Fall of 2008. He LOVED to be ridden and got rather upset on bad weather days when riding was not an option)

Where you used to be, there is a hole in the world, which I find myself constantly walking around in the daytime, and falling in at night. I miss you like hell.

(Fall of 2008. James & Bowden enjoy a ride at sunset.)

Where in this wide world can man find nobility without pride,
Friendship without envy,
Or beauty without vanity?
Here, where grace is served with muscle
And strength by gentleness confined
He serves without servility; he has fought without enmity.
There is nothing so powerful, nothing less violent.
There is nothing so quick, nothing more patient.
~Ronald Duncan, "The Horse," 1954

(Yearling colts together then, and now together again.)

Sometimes I wish I were a little kid again, skinned knees are easier to fix than broken hearts.

Good bye my friend...
